My main home based business is called Spillrite Vacuums Australia and I design and manufacture a range of industrial vacuums for industrial application. Most of the designs are not original, just a variation of products already in the market. Some improvements, others just different. The images below are part of my range. Keep in mind when I started I had just one product and grew quickly through a whole series of steps and manoeuvres.

These are some of my products. They look professionally designed and built and that is all part of selling to anyone, especially large industrial companies and businesses. They need to look the part. I do all the designs myself and then once I’m happy with the design in regards to the technical side I then start to pass the work on to people that supply me with the skills that I don’t have like;

• Filter manufacturers

The design is critical in that the product has to work for the task that it is designed for. It also has to look rugged and strong. However, there are several critical parts of the whole process of creating your own products. You need to be sure there is a market for the product.
