With a business like mine, where I have many variations of a product, it is always a positive when I create a new variation and get an order. Often I will look at my products and then change the images slightly and then post a new variation up onto the web and see if any fish bite.

With the drum vacuum there only so many variations. More power. Fits all drums worldwide. Uses less compressed air. Can vacuum up Jet fuel. Wet or dry. Many of the variations are obvious but sometimes a variation or a modification is not that obvious. Part of my design and technical specifications meant that I could design a high powered drum vacuum that could have a reverse pump out function. I had the reverse pump out function for use on galvanized drum lids that fitted Australian drums. To have a reverse pump out function you need to seal the drum with a galvanized lid for the reverse pump out to work. But USA drums or UK drums are slightly different sizes so I couldn’t offer them as I didn’t have access to those lid sizes. I build steel drum vac lids that fit all drums but they don’t seal, they just sit on top of the drum and when the vacuum starts they suck tight to the drum. As I was thinking through how I could make the steel lid into a reversible I got an email enquiry from a Middle Eastern company that ended in a fantastic sale. The following pages outline this sale and how I could offer a reverse drum vacuum that I hadn’t even built.
