I was determined that I would not fail a second time.
I started with a piece of paper and started to write down all of the things that I wasn’t going to do anymore as this would have a bearing on how I setup my manufacturing system;
- No more product demonstrations
- No more factory visits
- No more renting a factory
- No more expenses on things I didn’t need
- No more listening to other people
- No more products that everyone else has
- No more selling through resellers
- No more partners
- No more bullshit from suppliers and resellers
And I also wrote out a list of what I was going to do;
- Create my own product that is in demand
- Create multiple versions of my products
- Work from a home office to save costs
- Keep innovating
- Listen to customers to get ideas for products
- Make my business appear like a large industrial warehouse
- Create my own distinctive brand
- Sell via a series of websites
- Create demand by multiple websites
- Be on page 1 of Google
- Demand payment in advance
- Don’t offer any accounts
- Use resellers only on my terms
- Sell direct to end user
- Work the hours that I want
- Make sure I get a bucket load per hour
- Build the product with the best possible profit margin
- Target large companies with deep pockets
- Try and source components from local off the shelf suppliers
The list was like a dream list for a business. Sounds great but highly unlikely to be fulfilled.
I now have all those things and have had since 2012.
So let me lead you through what I sell, how I make it, how I sell it and all of the nuts and bolts of running a modern home based internet business in 2018.
